If you’ve been channel surfing all night like I have, you’ve probably seen the TLC commercial about the show that will celebrate the 1 year anniversary of the US Airways Flight 1549 crash that made Captain Sullenberger an American hero. And if you’re like me, you choke up a little bit- it’s so rare for things like this to not end in catastrophe.
On January 15, 2009 the US Airways Flight 1549 took off from LaGuardia Airport in New York and lost engine power. The pilot, Captain Sullenberger, turned the plane southbound and skillfully glided the aircraft into the Hudson River, intentionally landing near operating boats to increase the chance of rescue. There were 155 passengers onboard, who were successfully evacuated from the plane in the river.

President Obama met Sunday with the Senate Democrats to try and rally support for the new health care bill. The meeting last for almost 50 minutes encouraging the passing of the new bill. However, Obama would not discuss any concerns with the new bill.
The Democratic caucus contains 60 seats in the 100-member chamber, which is the minimum number needed to overcome a filibuster. If any Democratic caucus members balk at the public option, the party would need some Republicans to back the bill in order for it to pass.
There are several issues at state that Obama has refused to discuss up to this point, abortion, for example. The problem is that if this bill passes then in no way will this turn out good for any American! The truth is, what does it matter to Obama or any of the senates?? Of course this will not effect them! I’m sure they have their own insurance and money of course, so why should they care?!
Tiger Woods apologizes for his “behavior” the same day a gossip magazine reports another woman has come forward about her affair with Tiger. The apology said, “I have let my family down and I regret those transgressions with all of my heart. I have not been true to my values and the behavior my family deserves, I am not without faults and I am short of perfect. I am dealing with my behavior and personal failings behind closed doors with my family. Those feelings should be shared by us alone” . Now as you can see, Tiger never admitted to an affair, he didn’t admit to anything specifically just that he let his family down. Not to mention, I’m gonna guess there are pros and cons to being in the public eye and being a celebrity. However, he has made the most money an athlete has ever made soo obviously that comes with a price! Therefore not everything is private and that just comes with the territory.
The gossip magazine reported that the woman coming forward with information on her supposed affair with Tiger is Jaimee Grubbs, a 24-year old cocktail waitress who has also appeared on a VH1 show. She actually has a voicemail recording that Tiger sent her. The voicemail is Tiger asking her to please take her name off her cell phone voicemail recording and change it to a standard voicemail message because his wife got a hold of his phone and might be calling her number. I have two problems with this! First, if I were Tiger Woods and made as much money as he makes, then don’t you think I could afford to get a pre-paid phone that my wife would never find out about?! And two, if I was going to cheat on my spouse, I would make damn sure the person was worth my cheating with! I’m sorry but for him to risk his marriage on someone like her?! Come on Tiger, you can do better than her!!!
I just don’t understand why men can be soo stupid and continue to cheat on their wives AND continue to humiliate them in the public eye like that. If you can’t keep it in your pants then don’t get married!!!

n people who have read OR have access to this website, I just wanted to educate you on the meaning of a “Blog”. Some of you may have forgot or may not have even realize the true meaning of a real Blog. Also, just to make sure this is completely stupid proof for YOU to understand, I have underlined the important and key points to the definition of a Blog. I hope you read this carefully and please feel free to LEARN FROM IT!!
A blog (a contraction of the term “web log“) is a type of website, usually maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse-chronological order. “Blog” can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog.
Many blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject; others function as more personal online diaries. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, Web pages, and other media related to its topic. The ability for readers to leave comments in an interactive format is an important part of many blogs. Most blogs are primarily textual, although some focus on art (Art blog), photographs (photoblogging), videos (Video Blogging), music (MP3 Blog), and audio (podcasting). Microblogging is another type of blogging, featuring very short posts.
Now boys and GIRLS, for those of you who have read this definition and still don’t get the true meaning of a Blog, let me tell you my opinion on what “blogging” means. When someone blogs about any topic, if you like the post OR even if you DISAGREE with the blog, would you like to know what you should do?! First lets go over what not to do! You do NOT get mad and pitch a temper tantrum like a toddler and decide to ERASE SOMEONE ELSE”S POST! This is a NO NO and will result in you looking STUPID and IMMATURE! Grow up!
Now, if you are unhappy with a blog or post, the best way to handle this situation (In a MATURE manner!!) is to comment on the blog you disagree on or better yet why don’t you write a better blog (If you know what you’re talking about and think you can) disputing MY blog that you obviously disagree with!
For those of you that did not see the American Music Awards, or for who could not stand to watch the whole show, Adam Lambert was the last and final performer of the night….and now I see why!
First of all, I am not an American Idol fan so I am a little out of the loop and can say I honestly have never seen Adam Lambert perform. After watching him perform on the AMA’s, I don’t really feel like I’m missing out on anything. Before the disgusting grand finale, I thought the song sucked and his performance was lame. Almost like he was trying waay too hard! And then, to top it all off, he decided to be rapped up in the moment and stick his tongue down his band member’s throat! Seriously?! My mouth dropped and I slapped my husband, laying beside me in bed, for him to see what he was doing! My only thoughts at the time was, “I could have gone all day, week, month, hell even all year without seeing that!
I am not against homosexuals, male or female, but I mean come on! Stop trying so hard to be daring and different as an artist! It was bad enough I watched him simulate oral sex on one or two guys that were on stage but to top it all off, he had to french kiss another guy.
I don’t go around sticking my tongue down even my husband’s throat in public, much less on live television.
Jorge Steven Lopez Mercado was decapitated, dismembered, and partially burned. His body was found on the side of the road Friday afternoon. Juan A. Martinez Matos was arrested the following Monday and charged on Wednesday with first degree murder and four other counts.
The DA was questioning whether this was a hate crime because the victim was gay. The suspect picked up the victim because he was dressed like a woman. When the suspect realized he was a man, he became very angry and then he killed him. Because the murder was so brutal and the victim was openly gay, they are pushing this to be a hate crime.
Uga VII, the University of Georgia mascot whose deeply furrowed face was a fixture at the school for more than a year, died early Thursday, the university said. He was 4 years old.
The purebred English bulldog died of heart-related causes in Savannah, Georgia, according to its owner, Frank “Sonny” Seiler.
Fans knew Uga VII had arrived when the white dog, sporting a spiked collar and red Georgia University jersey, made his short strides along the football field’s sidelines. He made his first appearance at the August 30, 2008, season opener, when Georgia faced off against Georgia Southern, the university said. He was nearing the end of his second season with the team, the university said.
He was preceded by his father, Uga VI, the university’s winningest mascot, who died of congestive heart failure.
I swear, it was all over the news today. It was ‘breaking news’ on Twitter and top headlines on national news. It’s either a really slow news day or people are treating this like a national tragedy. Or both.
I get it. Oprah has been on TV forever and it’s hard to say goodbye to people you get used to always seeing on TV. But shows end. That’s just what they do. And, yes, I understand all the good that Oprah does because of the fame she gained through her TV show. I’m not denying that.
But, seriously, it’s not ending until 2011. Maybe if it was ending in 2012, it could coincide with the people saying that’s when the world will end. But anyways, you have plenty of time to mourn. And I’m sure Oprah will make sure you all have plenty of time to tell her how amazing she is. Like she would really go quietly (thus all the commotion today).
My sister is a high fashion freak and god knows what she’s paid for some of the bags she owns. To me, a deal is a deal. So when Costco started selling designer bags that are known for rarely (if ever) going on sale at a discount, it seemed good.
But not everyone is happy at the lower prices. Those who are designer purists can’t imagine buying a $1000+ bag at anywhere other than boutiques or luxury department stores. They say buying elsewhere taints the brand. And I guess I could see that…kinda sucks to buy your designer bag along with the jumbo pack of toilet paper.
What are your thoughts? Does the limited number of these bags available at Costco make them less ‘elite’ for everyone else? Or is it just a part of business?
I love when good things happen to good people (and let’s admit it, it doesn’t happen very often).
Norris Henry, a retired corrections officer from Westbury, NY, thought he had scored a nice five-digit, second-place lottery win. But he get the thrill of a lifetime when he found out he got the first place $6 million prize. When numbers were drawn for a Lotto jackpot Oct. 14, he thought he had matched five. Instead, he matched all six. The lottery said the second place winner in the drawing took home $39,638….still a nice chunk of change.
How cool is that? I hope he retires and enjoys himself!
