Zhu Zhu hamsters unsafe?

The light brown Zhu Zhu hamster named “Mister Squiggles” has unsafe levels of antimony according to California-Based Goodguide.  They found 93 to 106 parts per million.  The safe federal standard is about 60 parts per million.

The maker of Zhu Zhu pets are stating this is incorrect and they will not be doing a recall on their newly crazed furry toys.  They state they have also performed several test themselves and they are completely safe.  So which company that performed testing is correct?  Well the side effects include but are not limited to: liver and heart problems, ulcers, diarrhea, and rashes.

I realize this is the new popular toy this year for Christmas.  In fact, I have heard of so many parents waiting several hours in line just to purchase one of these furry little toys.  And for what?  Only to cause your child harm and possibly serious permanent damage?  The question is, is it worth risking your child’s health in order to get them the popular toy they want this year for Christmas?  I mean sure, your child will probably gripe and moan for a few days, maybe even a few weeks, if they don’t get this new toy they want so bad.  But guess what?  They are just kids and they will get over it!  This too shall pass and next month their will be another new toy that they “have” to have!

So instead of possibly risking your child’s health just so they can own an electronic fur ball, pick something else to get them that doesn’t possibly have an unsafe level of antimony!

Miley Cyrus got inked?

Miley Cyrus who recently celebrated her 17th birthday also got her first tattoo.  Is 17 too young for a tattoo?

Miley comes from a family full of their own tatts so it’s probably not a big deal to her parents for her to have her own.  Her tattoo is on the left side of her ribs and it reads “just breathe”.  Lindsay Lohan also has a tattoo on her wrist that reads “breathe”.  I would hate to have anything that comes in comparison with someone like Lindsay Lohan!

Miley’s mom, Trish recently got angel wings on her back and her brother Trace, has his whole torso covered in tattoos.  I personally am not against tattoos, having three myself.  However I was at least of age and didn’t need a parental consent to get my first tattoo so I guess it’s all on your preference and what you allow your children do or get away with.

And…also if you notice in this picture of Miley, she needs to do a better job if she’s gonna put padding in her bathing suit top!  I’m just saying!

Obama pushes healthcare bill

President Obama met Sunday with the Senate Democrats to try and rally support for the new health care bill.  The meeting last for almost 50 minutes encouraging the passing of the new bill.  However, Obama would not discuss any concerns with the new bill.

The Democratic caucus contains 60 seats in the 100-member chamber, which is the minimum number needed to overcome a filibuster. If any Democratic caucus members balk at the public option, the party would need some Republicans to back the bill in order for it to pass.

There are several issues at state that Obama has refused to discuss up to this point, abortion, for example.  The problem is that if this bill passes then in no way will this turn out good for any American!  The truth is, what does it matter to Obama or any of the senates??  Of course this will not effect them!  I’m sure they have their own insurance and money of course, so why should they care?!

Tiger Woods apologizes for his “behavior”

Tiger Woods apologizes for his “behavior” the same day a gossip magazine reports another woman has come forward about her affair with Tiger.  The apology said, “I have let my family down and I regret those transgressions with all of my heart. I have not been true to my values and the behavior my family deserves, I am not without faults and I am short of perfect.  I am dealing with my behavior and personal failings behind closed doors with my family.  Those feelings should be shared by us alone” .  Now as you can see, Tiger never admitted to an affair, he didn’t admit to anything specifically just that he let his family down.  Not to mention, I’m gonna guess there are pros and cons to being in the public eye and being a celebrity.  However, he has made the most money an athlete has ever made soo obviously that comes with a price!  Therefore not everything is private and that just comes with the territory.

The gossip magazine reported that the woman coming forward with information on her supposed affair with Tiger is Jaimee Grubbs, a 24-year old cocktail waitress who has also appeared on a VH1 show.  She actually has a voicemail recording that Tiger sent her.  The voicemail is Tiger asking her to please take her name off her cell phone voicemail recording and change it to a standard voicemail message because his wife got a hold of his phone and might be calling her number.  I have two problems with this!  First, if I were Tiger Woods and made as much money as he makes, then don’t you think I could afford to get a pre-paid phone that my wife would never find out about?!  And two, if I was going to cheat on my spouse, I would make damn sure the person was worth my cheating with!  I’m sorry but for him to risk his marriage on someone like her?!  Come on Tiger, you can do better than her!!!

I just don’t understand why men can be soo stupid and continue to cheat on their wives AND continue to humiliate them in the public eye like that.  If you can’t keep it in your pants then don’t get married!!!

Woman attacked by police impersonator

In Noblesville, IN police are looking for a man that attacked a woman early this morning while impersonating a police officer.  The victim was driving down a main interstate when she saw red lights and pulled over.  Like most people when you see lights, you immediately role your window down and  get your license and registration ready for the police officer.  When the lady got her cards out and turned to face the officer, he attacked her by repeatedly hitting her in the face.  The woman was able to scare him off when she began to fight back and then pulled a knife on him.  He then jumped in his car and drove down the road.  The victim drove to the nearest gas station and called the police.

The woman was taken to a nearby hospital and was treated for minor injuries including a bump on the nose.  The victim spoke with police and was not able to give a very good description so far.  She said he was in complete uniform, 6 foot tall, and about 200 lbs.  Police are still looking for the suspect and in the mean time, they are educating the public on what to do if you are pulled over by a police officer.

The victim said she saw red lights.  Police cars are either blue lights or red AND blue lights.  Red lights only, are considered fire or ambulance vehicles for which you would not need to pull over because obviously they can not write you a ticket.  If you are pulled over by an unmarked car then the officer must be in full uniform.  However, if the vehicle is a marked car, the car must be marked clearly on every side of the car.  Police officers can pull you over in civilian clothes, but they must be in a marked car!  If you do not feel safe pulling over, you should drop your speed to the speed limit posted for that area, turn your hazard lights on, and pull into a fully lit area to dial 911 to confirm you are indeed being pulled over by an actual police officer.

Maurice Clemmons was shot and killed

Maurice Clemmons is the suspect who killed four police officers at a coffee shop early Sunday morning.  He walked up to the counter, like he was going to purchase a coffee and then turned around and executed two cops.  He then turned his gun on the third police officer that stood up after he shot the first two cops.  The fourth cop was shot while struggling with Clemmons trying to reach for the door.  One of the police officers was able to shoot Clemmons and injure him as he left the scene.

Friends of Clemmons say that before the shooting, he did brag and tell them he was planning to shoot some cops.  That they should be sure to watch the news within the next few days.  But of course, nobody took him seriously enough to report it!  For two days a man hunt went on in the search for Clemmons.  Clemmons received help with money, transportation, medical aid, and they also gave false tips to the police to try and derail their investigation.  The two men, Clemmons’ brothers, Eddie and Douglas Davis, will be charged for rendering criminal assistance, which is a felony charge.

Early Tuesday morning, a police officer came up on a car that was still running but the hood was raised and no one was in the car.  The police officer assumed this was a stolen car and pulled over to start his paperwork on the case.  The officer states he noticed a man walking up to his vehicle.  When the officer got out of his car, he instructed the man to freeze and show his hand.  The man refused and reached for his waist area and moved his hands.  The officer then drew his weapon and began to shoot the man.  The man was shot twice and pronounced dead on the scene.  The officer did not realize he was Maurice Clemmons until he was already pronounced dead.

The officer was put on administrative leave, which is common procedure after a shooting involved with a police officer.  Although many, many people will continue to grieve for the tragic death of the four police officers, at least now the citizens of Seattle can sleep a little more peaceful tonight knowing the man hunt for Clemmons is over.

The ridiculously sad part of this whole tragedy is the feed back and opinions expressed on YouTube!  I watched a news clip about the story and then scrolled down to see what comments have been posted.  Although you can not see a profile picture to every comment posted, it is obvious what color/race each person was that commented on the story.  The blacks/african americans wrote horrible comments about how the white racist cops got what they deserved and how there should be more white cop killings because they are crooked!  Some even went so far to say that they would love to spit on their graves and congrats to Clemmons for what he has done.  Then you have whites/caucasians that were furious at the other posts and start throwing the “N” word around telling them to watch what they say and how they might be next!  Seriously people, I have never heard so many racist and ignorant comments in my life!!  I am completely and totally disgusted by all that I have read tonight.  What has this world come too?!  It freaks me out and makes me very concerned at the world I am trying to raise my children in!!!

Notre Dame Coach fired!

Head coach, Charlie Weis was fired from Notre Dame after having a 37-27 record in his five years with the team.  Charlie came to Notre Dame with a sense of entitlement and arrogance.  Although he never played football at Notre Dame, he has always wanted to be the head coach, even as a student attending the college.  They say football players used to come to him for advice to help them with their playing while he was a student.

He went from working with the Patriots as an NFL Coordinator to becoming the head coach for Notre Dame.  In his third year there, he continued to lose games even though he was very arrogant about how he was going to win, win, win and he even told his players that they would never lose to Michigan State ever again.  Needless to say, he didn’t meet his own guarantee.   Before he came head coach, some people say he even went so far to get the job as to have gastric bypass.  He thought he had a better chance at becoming head coach if he was thinner.

Charlie Weis will probably go back to being an assistant coach in the NFL but unfortunately he will always be remembered as the coach that failed Notre Dame.  He was a very hard man to like because of his ego and big promises.  The more he won, the more you wanted him to lose.  But the more he lost, the more he became humbled and you actually wanted him to win.  The one positive thing you can say about Weis is that he has never blamed his players or fans for why he has lost so many games or tried to justify what went wrong.  Instead, he owned up to his mistakes and was forced to become humbled.

American Girl-Homeless doll

Meet Gwen, the new doll created by American Girl.  For about $100 Gwen can be yours!  She is a new addition to American Girl and she is featured as the “Homeless Doll”.  Each AG Doll has a storyline that comes with the doll, as if they were a real live person.

Gwen lived with both her parents until her dad walked out on her and her mom.  Then her mom lost control and became depressed.  Her mom lost her job and soon enough, they were both living in the back of her car.  Gwen and her mom then move to homeless shelter and she meets friends there.  The friends are other AG Dolls that have there own story lines too.  The only reason why her “friends” are working at the homeless shelter is because they were being bullies and as their punishment, they have to work at the local homeless shelter.

So there are several problems that people have with this new American Girl Doll.  First, these cute dolls are priced at $100 and little girls all over are pretty much addicted to them.  Not to mention it is a homeless doll which supposedly “teaches” young girls about helping out at homeless shelters and soup kitchens.  Yet do you think any of the contributions that the maker, Mattel, is getting going to help the homeless.  Which means basically Mattel is making money off the homeless and it seems to me like a slap in the face!  I can picture a homeless little girl waking up to the window of the American Girl store and wondering what $100 taste like.  This was a stupid idea for a doll.

Another problem I have with this doll is it gives the message to younger girls that it’s the dad’s fault she ended up homeless because he left.  Doesn’t matter that the mom had a melt down and couldn’t rise up with a little bit of self control and take care of her daughter.  If this was the real world DFACS would be involved once the child was living in the backseat of a vehicle.

My point is, Mattel is you wanted to “send a message” or teach these younger girls that are going crazy for these American Girl dolls, then why didn’t you just advertise that with every purchase of a Gwen doll, you would donate a portion to help the homeless?!

Boo to health care bill

There is a new health care bill Obama is pushing and the senate is trying to pass.  Although there are always pros and cons to everything.  I vote NO on the new health care bill!

With this new bill, everyone is required to have health insurance.  If you fail to provide proof and do not  have health insurance for yourself and your family, you will be required to serve jail time.  This is pretty sad considering they can’t even keep murderers and rapist off the streets and in jail but they are willing to crowd the jails with honest working people who may not always be able to afford health insurance?

There are people in Canada dying every day because of this new and “great” health care bill.  As if doctors and health care providers don’t have enough hoops to jump through to treat patients, there will be a lot more hoops to jump through.  For example, if you were in a serious car accident and your doctor ordered a STAT MRI or CT Scan, your new health insurance may require you to wait a grace period before they can perform the test.  Last I checked STAT meant STAT!  Not when your health insurance thinks you should have the test or once your, say 3-5 day grace period is over.  This is why Canadians are dying!  Because they are not getting the proper tests, surgery, and treatment they need and when they need it!

The democrats and senates trying to pass this bill need to wake up and realize they are on the wrong side of making history here!  That once they sign this bill, they will officially be making the worst mistake of their careers!  But I guess unfortunately they choose to learn from their mistakes and of course, we will have to suffer because of it! Obama promised health care for everyone…..he never said it would be good for everyone!!  I have always said “Quality over Quantity!!”.

Tiger Woods involved in car accident

Around 2:25am on Friday morning, Woods was involved in a single car accident right outside his home in Orlando, Florida.  According to police reports, Woods was pulling out of his driveway when he struck a fire hydrant and then a tree.  He was driving a 2009 Cadillac SUV.

His wife heard the noise from the crash and came running outside.  When she got to the SUV, Woods was in and out of consciousness.  Woods’ wife used his golf clubs to break the window and pull him out of the SUV.  When police got to the scene of the accident, his wife was performing first aid on Woods.  Fire and Rescue later arrived and took Woods to Health Central Hospital where he was treated for minor lacerations on his upper and lower lip and then released.

There is still an investigation and charges are still pending to determine the cause of the accident.  According to police, it does not appear to be an alcohol-related accident.

So the real questions are, why was Woods leaving his house around 2am anyways?  He was obviously in a hurry to have done that much damage to his SUV and himself.  And how in the world do you do that much damage just from backing out of your own driveway….without alcohol involved?!  Hmm….sounds a little odd to me!  It also seems ironic that his wife used his golf clubs to break his rear window to get him out of the SUV.  If that were me, I’m thinking, maybe there was an argument or fight?  Because if my husband stormed out of the house and in that much of a hurry to get out of the driveway to hit a fire hydrant and tree?!  Oh I would soo use his precious golf clubs to bash in his window!  Now that’s funny! Well…if that’s the case, it’s funny!
