12-year girl went missing with no Amber alert

Written on December 10th, 2009 by Johnno shouts

jahmeshia-conner-1blogJahmeshia Conner, 12 year old from Chicago, was last seen getting on the bus to go to school outside her mother’s apartment.  Her mother didn’t report her missing until the next day.  Her mom said the reason for the delay was because she thought Jahmeshia spent the night with her aunt.  Jahmeshia was found two weeks later about a block from her mother’s apartment strangled to death in an alley.

Police say she was dead within two days of being kidnapped.  Supposedly, a flier was drawn up with all the proper information on her disappearance but was never reported to the proper media.  So what went wrong?  Why was her kidnapping never reported on the local news stations?  Why wasn’t there an Amber alert immediately following the report of her being missing?  I think there are several questions that should be answered in this case.  This may not bring her back and safely to her family but it may prevent this from happening to another kidnapped child!

First of all, there is obviously a lack of communication with the family!  I don’t care if my kids are supposed to be spending the night away from home, it doesn’t matter where she was staying that night!  I would have called to talk to my child that night and definitely touched base with who was responsible for picking my child up to make sure they got there safely. The second major problem with this is if my child was kidnapped or missing, first I would have to be medicated from being hysterical and extremely upset but then I would be on the police’s ass wanting to know what they are doing to find my child and want to know how quickly the news report is going to be broadcast!  I mean, come on people, I think a lot of people are at fault here!  Everyone should have been out looking for this child immediately and telling everyone about her disappearance!

Although the Chicago police weren’t able to give Jahmeshia’s family the justice they truly deserved by finding her unharmed, they are now doing everything in their power to catch the murderer that did this horrible crime.

Woman attacked by police impersonator

Written on December 1st, 2009 by Johnno shouts

police carIn Noblesville, IN police are looking for a man that attacked a woman early this morning while impersonating a police officer.  The victim was driving down a main interstate when she saw red lights and pulled over.  Like most people when you see lights, you immediately role your window down and  get your license and registration ready for the police officer.  When the lady got her cards out and turned to face the officer, he attacked her by repeatedly hitting her in the face.  The woman was able to scare him off when she began to fight back and then pulled a knife on him.  He then jumped in his car and drove down the road.  The victim drove to the nearest gas station and called the police.

The woman was taken to a nearby hospital and was treated for minor injuries including a bump on the nose.  The victim spoke with police and was not able to give a very good description so far.  She said he was in complete uniform, 6 foot tall, and about 200 lbs.  Police are still looking for the suspect and in the mean time, they are educating the public on what to do if you are pulled over by a police officer.

The victim said she saw red lights.  Police cars are either blue lights or red AND blue lights.  Red lights only, are considered fire or ambulance vehicles for which you would not need to pull over because obviously they can not write you a ticket.  If you are pulled over by an unmarked car then the officer must be in full uniform.  However, if the vehicle is a marked car, the car must be marked clearly on every side of the car.  Police officers can pull you over in civilian clothes, but they must be in a marked car!  If you do not feel safe pulling over, you should drop your speed to the speed limit posted for that area, turn your hazard lights on, and pull into a fully lit area to dial 911 to confirm you are indeed being pulled over by an actual police officer.

15-year old raped while students watched

Written on October 29th, 2009 by Johnno shouts

A 15-year old was raped Saturday night after a homecoming dance at Richmond High School in suburban San Francisco.  Police say the rape went on for at least 2 1/2 hours behind the school in a dimly lighted alley behind the school.  California law states it is illegal for someone not to call 911 if they witnessed a crime against a child.  But the age limit of “a child” is fourteen, therefore the police are unable to arrest the ten witnesses that just stood there and did nothing.

The 15-year old was raped by at least ten guys so any help towards making an arrest is definitely needed.  The victim was found right before midnight unconscious near the bleachers.  She was in critical condition and had to be airlifted to the hospital.  A rape kit was done and the evidence shows that the rapist had done multiple sexual acts.  A witness overheard some of the suspects bragging about the incident the night of the rape.

The school board states the school and police are to blame because the area was not being watched as well as it should.  The school board had a meeting on Tuesday to discuss safety and ensure the community that the school is safe and will be monitored more properly.  The 15-year old is still in the hospital and recovering.
