Loiuisiana justice Bardwell who refused interracial marriage resigns

Remember that big issue that arose from the justice of the peace Keith Bardwell that refused to issue a marriage license to an interracial couple? While Beth Humphrey and Terence McKay were married by another justice of the peace, the story certainly still made headlines.

And really, is it really any surprise that he resigned? It’s 2009, suck it up. It’s just like pharmacists that won’t hand out birth control due to ‘religious beliefs’. If it’s your job, you don’t really get an opinion. Period. And as long as it’s legal, who cares?

I just don’t get it. But I’m glad he’s gone. The world doesn’t need people like that. Too many bad vibes in the world already.
