‘Brace for Impact’ documents hero Capt Sullenberger and flight 1549

If you’ve been channel surfing all night like I have, you’ve probably seen the TLC commercial about the show that will celebrate the 1 year anniversary of the US Airways Flight 1549 crash that made Captain Sullenberger an American hero. And if you’re like me, you choke up a little bit- it’s so rare for things like this to not end in catastrophe.

On January 15, 2009 the US Airways Flight 1549 took off from LaGuardia Airport in New York and lost engine power. The pilot, Captain Sullenberger, turned the plane southbound and skillfully glided the aircraft into the Hudson River, intentionally landing near operating boats to increase the chance of rescue. There were 155 passengers onboard, who were successfully evacuated from the plane in the river.

‘Brace for Impact’ airs Sunday, January 10 on TLC at 9pm.

Last episode of Jon & Kate! Commence with rejoicing!

So the final episode has aired and the Gosselin family won’t be a part of our lives anymore. It was innocent enough, with a family trip to an organic farm. It wasn’t until the last, oh, 10 minutes of the episode that Kate said something about it being the last episode and that their trip to the farm would be the last thing they would shoot.

As they went out to commercial, I have to admit there were some cute “looking back” moments with the kids (and even Jon & Kate). And the last few minutes of the show had some reflections from Kate and she was choking up the whole time, saying how this wasn’t how it was supposed to end. While I can see that, she segwayed to that from talking about all the great vacations they had on the show. Sigh. You’ll never change Kate.

Anyways, so long to Jon & Kate Plus 8. I’m sure this won’t be the last we hear from you guys.

No Sympathy for Kate Gosselin

Oh, boo hoo to Kate Gosselin. Your kids are sad you’re not filming anymore? Of course they are- they’re old enough to know that means no more free trips. I’d be sad, too.

Suck it up and be a MOM and stop worrying about your precious TV show. If you’re saying your kids are suffering, that’s probably because you suck and you’re so worried about being a drama queen that you’re ignoring them.

Maybe you need a publicity stunt. The kids can pretend to fly away in your overflated head.
